Christmas Blessings from The Doorns
To Our Dear Friends Everywhere,
It is with the joy of this wonderful season of the year that we greet you in the Name of our Lord Jesus. It is He who was called by the Prophet Isaiah, “Wonderful, Counsellor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace!” We rejoice once again in the celebration of His Miraculous Birth.
It has been one of the busiest years of our 60 years of ministry, even though at 79 we should be slowing down. Our Bishop, Dr. Bill Jenkins, told us one day, “As long you keep serving the Lord, He has reason to keep you in strength. If you quit, He has reason to take you home to your reward!” We have chosen to keep going and, you know what, we are loving it! We have been to 10 nations and 10 states in some 250 services of ministry this year of 2008. And 2009 doesn’t seem to be slowing down much either as we are already booked in several nations and states the first half of the new year. There is an old hymn of the church that says, “I am happy in the service of the King, I am happy, oh so happy … In the service of the King, every talent I will bring; I have peace and joy and blessing in the service of the King!” That’s the two of us old timers!
We had a lovely increase in our family this year in that our son, Tim, was married to a lovely lady minister and singer extraordinaire, Sheena. She has two beautiful girls, Eden Joy, age 6, and Grace Christian, age 18 months, so we gained 2 new grand daughters. They will be living in Houston, Texas in a lovely home there along with our grandson, Gavin, who is already 21. Where does the time go? Our Susan and John’s 2 girls are growing so fast as well. Lauren Rose will soon be 8 and little Kristin Joy is already almost 16 months. They still live on Amelia Island. Our son, Mark, is moving up in Disney World and is active in a Christian prayer group there along with his many other responsibilities. On another note, we were saddened this year by the death of our dearest friend, Rev. John Petrucelli, our neighbor with whom we have been so close. We see his dear wife, Ethel, as often as we are home.
We want to take this opportunity to wish you and yours the most blessed Christmas ever and a New Year bursting with the goodness of the Lord!
